Solution

The deepest part is $1 + 1 = 2$ .
The next layer is $1 + \frac{1}{2} = \frac{3}{2}$ .

Why this works

Each layer of this stacked fraction is "one plus one over the layer below it." Doing one layer at a time and writing each result as a single fraction keeps you from mixing up which number goes on top.

The trap

Forgetting to flip 3/2 when dividing 1 by it, which gives 1 + 3/2 = 5/2, or stopping at 3/2 and picking (B).
